changed my double page spread

Heres my new double page spread, i have decided the Rhianna page can be the first page when you open the magazine as it has a little bit of information, this new double page i think is better as it has more information for people who don't really know JLS and they can hear how they shot to fame and what they have achieved. I think i have done well choosing the images and i wrote everything myself that is in this article.

another finished magazine cover & first part of double page spread

I actually prefer this magazine cover as it has more color than the other one, i also put a barcode and a price on this one to make it more realistic.

finished draft magazine cover

i really love this cover. I think it is one of my best ones i have made but i am thinking about doing 4 different ones just to experiment and make it different.
I used photoshop in editing this & got the fonts off of Dafont a website i always use to get certain fonts.

magazine cover .....

the start of my magazine cover ... not finished yet still needs a few changes but i really like it so far.

history of photography (will put on investigation blog when can make one)

The first permanent photograph (later accidentally destroyed) was an image produced in 1826 by the French inventor Joseph Nicéphore Niépce. His photographs were produced on a polished pewter plate covered with a petroleum derivative called bitumen of Judea. Bitumen hardens with exposure to light. The unhardened material may then be washed away and the metal plate polished, rendering a negative image which then may be coated with ink and impressed upon paper, producing a print. Niépce then began experimenting with iron compounds based on a Johann Heinrich Schultz discovery in 1724 that a iron and chalk mixture darkens when exposed to light.
n partnership, Niépce (in Chalon-sur-Saône) and Louis Daguerre (in Paris) refined the existing silver process.[6] In 1833 Niépce died of a stroke, leaving his notes to Daguerre. While he had no scientific background, Daguerre made two pivotal contributions to the process. He discovered that exposing the silver first to iodine vapour before exposure to light, and then to mercury fumes after the photograph was taken, could form a latent image. Bathing the plate in a salt bath then fixes the image. On January 7, 1839 Daguerre announced that he had invented a process using silver on a copper plate called the daguerreotype. The French government bought the patent and immediately made it public domain.

my website proposal

Proposal for website

For my website theme I have decided to do music, in general R&B music and basically some of my favourite artists. I have decided to do this theme because I love music to be honest I don’t think I could live without it. I am going to be basing my website on my favourite artist’s but also the hit single’s they have had and where they got to in the chart. Some of the artists I will be doing all have a different style of music, they will be :
·        JLS – their type of music is R&B but they also have a bit of soul to and are my favourite band at the moment.
·        Tinie Tempah – Tinie Tempah is mainly rap but he also has a bit of pop too, this is because he always has another person singing with him so it’s not just rap it is pop to.
·        Mcfly – Mcfly are mainly pop but I also think they have a little bit of punk in their music to as they have guitar’s which are electric & acoustic and maybe they even have a bit of rock to.
·        Rihanna – Rihanna’s music is mainly R&B be she has collaborated with many different artists so that makes her a bit of rap and a bit of pop.
·        Katy Perry – Katy’s music is mainly a pop type thing but she has so many good song’s its unbelievable this is why I also chose her.
·        Justin bieber – Justin’s music is mainly pop but he has done some great collaborations also with the likes of usher & Sean Kingston. But I also chose him because he is very popular with the younger kids and teens.
kxOlly murs: Olly is new on the music scene & come second on the X factor last year, within the year he has had a number 1 single and has just released his second single thinkng of me.

·TThe styles of music I have decided to do are all different & what I like, also is popular at the moment which is important because that is what everyone is look for this day in age. My logo for this going to be something with a bit of bling but a bit of colour to it to , something different but im still thinking of ideas, also I want it to be fancy text I have already come of with a few font’s that I like, the logo will initials of what my website is going to called. Two of the names I have got are ‘lose yourself’ and ‘one directionz’. Some of the other ideas I have had is having the initials then the word edited underneath. There must be some websites like mine somewhere but I don’t know any names , that’s my only problem at the moment is thinking of website’s like mine. Originally I was thinking of doing a website about my favourite band but then I thought I would stretch it out to different artists that I like instead of just the same ones.

history of logos > adidas

Adidas - a name that stands for competence in all sectors of sport all over the world. Adidas was founded by Adolf (Adi) Dassler, who started producing shoes in the 1920s with the help of his brother Rudolf Dassler who later formed rival shoe company PUMA AG. Adi Dassler's aim was to provide every athlete with the best possible equipment. For this he followed three guiding principles: design the best shoe for the requirements of the sport, protect the athlete from injury, and make the product durable. Today, the Adidas brand product range extends from shoes, apparel and accessories for basketball, soccer, fitness and training to adventure, trail and golf. The company's clothing and shoe logo designs typically feature three parallel stripes, and this same motif is incorporated into Adidas's current official logo. For years the only symbol associated with Adidas was the trefoil (flower) logo design. The 3 leaves symbolize the Olympic spirit, linked to the three continental plates as well as the heritage and history of the brand. The "Trefoil" was adopted as the corporate logo design in 1972. In 1996, it was decided that the Trefoil corporate identity would only be used on heritage products. Examples of products featuring the Trefoil logo design include the Stan Smith, Rod Laver, A-15 Warm-Up, and Classic T-Shirt. In January 1996, the Three-Stripe brand mark became the worldwide Adidas corporate logo. This logo represents performance and the future of the Adidas branding identity. It has become synonymous with Adidas and its dedication to producing high-quality athletic products to help athletes perform better.

My Eclipse movie poster.

I chose to do a movie poster for this film as this is one of my favourite films.
Here are some of the posters i have found that have been done already but i was just looking for inspiration even though i have made posters before.
This is a good movie poster in my opinion because it has the 3 main charactors, this is what the fans are looking for as with this franchise as they have teams e.g. Team edward (left) team Jacob (right) team Bella (middle). so it would be a good idea to have all of the main charactors in it then some of the other charactors in the background with a low opacity of somthing along the lines of that.

Here is another poster that i found, this one is really good to and i really like because it is a good pov shot of the main charactors.
I am going to uplaod my poster when i am finished with it.

shatter Glass effect text

Today we used photoshop to make text look like shattered glass. I definetly preffered using photoshop today as i am not so good a flash, overall i found it pretty easy and will use this techniuqe a lot in all my work from now on.
Here is the finished document.
I really love this text effect .. its really cool and i have never tryed to do it before.

step by step.

The first step is to get the right size background. which is 8 by 4 inches with 300 dpi.
Then color your background black then click on the text tool and write whatever you want...
..This is my example of what i have done. I have put a lyric from one of my favorite songs as an example.
The next step is to right click on your text layer...and click blending options.
After this a box should come up that looks like this ....
The one's i have highlighted in red are the most important which are
+ depth
+ soften
+ technique
These are the ones that are most important at the minute. Drag the bars on depth and soften to however you like it, as with technique press on the arrow that is pointing down & click on the option chisel hard. This will make your letter's look shiny and almost like glass.
Then if you look down the edge of the i have ticked to other boxes which are
+ contour
+ satin
The contour will ass a little bit more effect into it where as satin will make the text go a silvery grey color.
Here is the finished text from the last couple of steps i have done.
The next step is to do the effect where it look like its all shattered and broken.
You do this by pressing in the top right hand corner ...but first go down the layers panel & create a new layer then drag this underneith the text layer & then merge the layers together...
After you have don this then you can press in the top right hand corner and right click onto the lasso tool... to bring up 3 options ..
click on the middle option.
When you have clicked on the correct tool then start to make trianguler patterns like this ...
Then move the trianguler shape to make it look like that part of the text is shattered ..
Then the first word should effectivly look like this ... then do this for every other word until you are happy with the way it looks.

bansky

Bansky's work is really memorable, which is why i think that his graffiti has so many admirers i think the best thing about it is that it different and in some cases disturbing.

Banksy is the pseudonym of a British graffiti artist, political activist and painter, whose identity is unconfirmed.
His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine irreverent dark humour with graffiti done in a distinctive stencilling technique. Such artistic works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.
Banksy's work was born out of the Bristol underground scene which involved collaborations between artists and musicians. According to author and graphic designer Tristan Manco, Banksy "was born in 1974 and raised in Bristol, England. The son of a photocopier technician, he trained as a butcher but became involved in graffiti during the great Bristol aerosol boom of the late 1980s. Observers have noted that his style is similar to Blek le Rat, who began to work with stencils in 1981 in Paris and members of the anarcho-punk band Crass who maintained a graffiti stencil campaign on the London Tube System in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
my favorite is the painting's he does on the walls that look like there is a hole in the wall that leads to a complete opposite place.

history of graffiti going up to 1985.

1966- 1971
Graffiti was used primarily by political activists to make statements and street gangs to mark territory. The history of the underground art movement known by many names, most commonly termed graffiti begins in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the mid to late '60s and is rooted in bombing. The writers who are credited with the first conscious bombing effort are CORNBREAD and COOL EARL. They wrote their names all over the city gaining attention from the community and local press.

1971- 1974
Shortly after CORNBREAD, the Washington Heights section of Manhattan was  entering a new world full of a lot more writers being influenced by CORNBREAD & COOL EARL. In 1971 The New York Times published an article on one of these writers. TAKI 183. This writer was the alias of a kid from Washington Heights. TAKI was the nick name for his given name Demetrius and 183 was the number of the street where he lived. The appearance of this unusual name and numeral sparked public curiosity prompting the Times article. He was by no means the first writer or even the first king. He was however the first to be recognized outside the newly formed subculture. Most widely credited as being one of the first writers of significance is JULIO 204. FRANK 207 and JOE 136 were also early writers. FRIENDLY FREDDIE was an early Brooklyn writer to gain fame. The subway system proved to be a line of communication and a unifying element for all these separate movements. People in all the five boroughs became aware of each others efforts. This established the foundation of interborough competition.
Writing started moving from the streets to the subways and quickly became competitive. At this point writing consisted of mostly tags and the goal was to have as many as possible.
1978- 1981
A new wave of creativity bloomed in late 1977 with crews like TDS, TMT, UA, MAFIA, TS5, CIA, RTW, TMB, TFP, TC5 and TF5. Style wars were once again peaking.
1982-1985
During the early to mid 1980s the writing culture deteriorated dramatically due to several factors. Some related directly to the graffiti culture itself and others to the greater society in general.
The crack cocaine epidemic was taking its toll on the inner city. Due to the drug trade powerful firearms were readily available.
The climate on the street became increasingly tense. Laws restricting the sale of paint to minors and requiring merchants to place spray paint in locked cages made shoplifting more difficult. Legislation was in the works to make penalties for graffiti more severe.
The major change was the increase in the Metropolitan Transit Authority's anti-graffiti budget. Yards and layups were more closely guarded. Many favored painting areas became almost inaccessible.
Graffiti removal was stronger and more consistent than ever, making the life span of many paintings months if not days. This frustrated many writers causing them to quit.

To be continued!!

Typeography

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type, type design, and modifying type glyphs.
Type glyphs are created and modified using a variety of illustration techniques. The arrangement of type involves the selection of typefaces, point size, line length, leading (line spacing), adjusting the spaces between groups of letters 'tracking' and adjusting the space between pairs of letters 'kerning'.
