shatter Glass effect text

Today we used photoshop to make text look like shattered glass. I definetly preffered using photoshop today as i am not so good a flash, overall i found it pretty easy and will use this techniuqe a lot in all my work from now on.
Here is the finished document.
I really love this text effect .. its really cool and i have never tryed to do it before.

step by step.

The first step is to get the right size background. which is 8 by 4 inches with 300 dpi.
Then color your background black then click on the text tool and write whatever you want...
..This is my example of what i have done. I have put a lyric from one of my favorite songs as an example.
The next step is to right click on your text layer...and click blending options.
After this a box should come up that looks like this ....
The one's i have highlighted in red are the most important which are
+ depth
+ soften
+ technique
These are the ones that are most important at the minute. Drag the bars on depth and soften to however you like it, as with technique press on the arrow that is pointing down & click on the option chisel hard. This will make your letter's look shiny and almost like glass.
Then if you look down the edge of the i have ticked to other boxes which are
+ contour
+ satin
The contour will ass a little bit more effect into it where as satin will make the text go a silvery grey color.
Here is the finished text from the last couple of steps i have done.
The next step is to do the effect where it look like its all shattered and broken.
You do this by pressing in the top right hand corner ...but first go down the layers panel & create a new layer then drag this underneith the text layer & then merge the layers together...
After you have don this then you can press in the top right hand corner and right click onto the lasso tool... to bring up 3 options ..
click on the middle option.
When you have clicked on the correct tool then start to make trianguler patterns like this ...
Then move the trianguler shape to make it look like that part of the text is shattered ..
Then the first word should effectivly look like this ... then do this for every other word until you are happy with the way it looks.
